God's Way Verses Our Own

Psalms 81:13: Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

The problem is not that we shouldn't have a way, if it were not so, God would not have created us with free choice. He would have made us robots, therefore the exercise of choice is essential to the love that God has for us (John 3:16). The question is: why do we believe that our ways supercede God's?:

1 Kings 18:21: And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Elijah understood the dilemma. We have no clue how our own hearts (minds) function (Jeremiah 17:9) therefore, we think that our ways are right, but it inevitably leads to death (Proverbs 14:12;16:25).

God's way is NOT the best way...it is THE WAY, we need to learn this. If we truly understood this, we would daily be found in prayer, seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit, asking Him to cover our minds with His love.
